Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Data Entry Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately entering payroll data, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. This role requires excellent data entry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter payroll data accurately and efficiently into payroll systems.
Review and verify employee information, timesheets, and attendance records for completeness and accuracy.
Process payroll transactions, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and promotions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
Maintain and update payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and tax information.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, discrepancies, and procedures.
Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to resolve payroll-related issues.
Generate payroll reports and assist in audits as required.
Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll information.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience in payroll data entry or a similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Familiarity with payroll software and systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ADP, Paychex, or other payroll processing systems.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
Understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
